Concrete slabs placed on the beach in an attempt to buffer the shoreline from further degradation in Bugovo 114, a historic fishing settlement on the Black Sea. Approximately 20 years prior, corruption allowed a local authority to dredge through a mussel reef to allow his yacht access to the Black Sea from a pier that was also constructed illegally. The reef was a natural buffer from the storm surge and its destruction has caused a gradual collapse of the village which has been left unattended to by local authorities over the decades.
