September 22, 2022 - Izium, Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine: Aerial view of excavated pits where the bodies of civilians and soldiers were found buried in the recently liberated Ukrainian town of Izium. According the Ukrainian military soldiers, the numbered crosses were placed there by local civilians who were able to identify the dead. Hundreds of corpses, presumed to have been buried during the Russian occupation (by civilians and Russian soldiers), have already been exhumed from individual and mass graves at the site.
